After 16 years I have left the field of education to answer God’s call to full time ministry. As I share how this unfolded in ensuing posts, and give testimony to the grace and faithfulness of God, it is my sincere hope that you will be richly inspired as well as endlessly challenged to figure out and understand what role discipleship plays in your Christian walk.
We are all called to BE disciples. We are also called to MAKE disciples. So I am hoping to share thoughts, promote discussion, and ultimately see the Kingdom of God flourish through ideas that are generated. These will be some simple musings of a guy who is, like Paul, the least qualified of those available, but who is trying to get comfortable with the discomfort of having the thumb of the Holy Spirit in the center of his back.
The title Discipleship Doorways was inspired by the lyrics of a recent contemporary christian song by Jason Gray. You can listen to the song here. The song talks about Heaven touching Earth with acts of love that we do for others. In the bridge of the song he says “God put a million million doors in the world for His love to walk through, one of those doors is you.” We are all the “doorways of discipleship.” Look forward to sharing what God is doing in my heart and what he may be doing in yours.
